Default Sc10 4x4/ Tekin Rx8/Pro 4 4600Kv problem.

Hey guys, I need some help. Im running a Tekin Rx8/ Pro4 4600 Kv in a Sc10 4x4. After about 3 months of use, It went to bed and took a nap in storage for about 2 months... I just pulled it back out, Put some new Associated HD Slipper Pads in and from the last time I ran this, I noticed it did not have any grip around turns and corners and I could barely jump farther than a 17.5 non boost/timing 2wd Sc truck on triples... Any help would help you guys. I was thinking my whole slipper clutch could use replacement. Would the new VTS4 slipper from Associated help? and maybe some new tires? I already had so many issues and dropped so many bills on this thing, So any help that could resolve this problem would be appreciated.

I've run the stock slipper(except for HD pads) since I first purchased this truck and the only thing I did was put an extra thrust washer in(so 2 of them) next to the thrust race, which keeps the outside slipper hub from bottoming out when you tighten the nut. I run the castle 1410 4 pole motor.

I have yet to try the new VTS slipper, but from what I can tell from other users, it does its job well.

I noticed my slipper pads are already glazed over from just one 5 minute run trying to get around the track... Im guessing my all this power from the motor is causing that and its slipping too much?

Try cutting the spur like this, sometimes the pads are thinner and this part on the spur hits and it doesn't let the pads be as tight as they can.this is off a Durango but it's almost the exact same thing

It's defintely the power your putting thru it that glazes the pads... Mine does it too, and I've used the extra thrust washer. I would say go for the new associated clutch basket. I've been wanting to grab one, just no spare money to do so yet. Part # is 91175, and if your looking to do saddles, or don't have a chassis brace yet, the 91174 is a cool upgrade that will get you the slipper parts, new ackerman bar, chassis brace, saddle mounts, and maybe some more stuff for under 50 bucks.

That won't help. The outer slipper pad bottoms out on the shaft because it isn't keyed deep enough. It doesn't hit the spur there. On mine at least.

Well your problem with no grip around corners is your clicker.
Lock it down all the way. If you dont it will drive like a 2wd.

Its not the clicker, Its locked down all the way. I just remembered that these Suburbs are more for sliding... I'll be trying out some Bar Codes after I get the slipper resolved.

DD's in green in the rear and practically slick barcodes upfront are working for me atm.
